Please do not submit an application without first reading ‘what makes a good bid’.
The next meeting of the Foundation Trustees is on March 12th 2025 the deadline for application is February 21st 2025
Application Guidance:
Current and Former Pupils: (up to the age of 25 years.)
These are examples of the things we can help with:
Cost of books, field trips, equipment, tools, special clothing, evening classes, travel for educational enrichment… the list is endless!
For former pupils, we can fund anything which we deem would help further your career, be it apprenticeships, college, university or professional training.
Please attach a letter to your email to us. It must contain the following information:
- Your name and address
- Whether you are a current or former pupil of Ormskirk School (please supply year and class details or dates when you attended the school)
- What are you requesting the Trustees to fund?
- Why do you need this funding? How will it make a difference to you?
- What is the educational or career benefit to you?
- What is the breakdown of the total cost of the item(s) you wish the Foundation to fund.
- What do you personally expect to pay towards it? Will anyone else contribute eg. employer, scholarship etc?
- What steps have you taken to raise funds and how much have you raised towards the goal?
- What happens if you do not succeed in the bid? What is the consequence?
- If you are self employed or starting your own business, have you applied for other funding such as The Prince’s Trust?
- Any additional information
Please note, we do not fund requests for support for accommodation costs or any items that have already been purchased.
Any successful grants for a computer will need to supply the trustees with a dated receipt on purchase.
Current students may be asked to come to our next meeting, do a short presentation and take questions about your request, if appropriate.
Member of staff of Ormskirk School:
- Your name and position in school
- What you would like funding for
- Explain why your project is of a kind which would not normally be funded by an LEA / Academy Trust or local government
- What is the educational benefit to your pupils and/or community benefit
- What impact would the funding have (increased participation. inclusivity etc)?
- Have you approached the Academy Trust for funding and what was the response
- What is the breakdown of the total cost
- What steps you’ve taken to raise funds so far and how much have you raised
- Any additional information
Please note your application MUST be approved by the Head Teacher.
For any applications over £2,500, we would then ask you to come to our next meeting, do a short presentation and take questions about your application.
